There is some talk about what metals go into the proprietory STELLIUM or older Excelsior barrels. The 470 catalogue says 687 (682 barrel) had Ni CH Mo , same as recivers,
Then my 2013 show only Ch-Mo. Chron moly 41XX is the same stuff my grandson $700 bike is made of, that is the tubing. Is it in my 687?
Nickel is more corrosive resistant when added with Moly ( a non metal) which produces some protective layer on the steel tubing. Beretta buys a lot of tubes for it cold hammer forged barrels, which become our shotgum barrels S68X 69X, DT, SV lines. SO line is the real expensive Antitini Boehler or so, like used in K80 barrels etc.
So does anyone know what the hell is in our Beretta shotgun battrls and is it better that the competeters? Mossber, Browning (Japan) CG, Fabarms, etc?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
